In the coming exhibition, agnès b.’s LIBRAIRIE GALERIE will bring you to a journey to the amazing and playful “Sissy Circus”!!
“Sissy Circus” is a fictional circus created by Robert Estermann. Integrated with a broad selection of his different works mostly from the past three years, the exhibition illustrates an atmosphere of playful, surprising, innocent and a short moment for consciousness. The artworks are elegant, simple, sometimes seemingly child-like and reminding minimalism, they can be seen as condensed expressions by someone who wants to explore, inhabit and celebrate the degrees of grey in reality, which the artist refers to “Singularities”.
All the works are inter-related and the artist hopes the attentive visitors will enjoy the manifold associations between the works as much as the works themselves.
Robert Estermann
Robert Estermann was born and grew up in a small village in the Swiss Alps. Since his childhood, he did drawing, writing, and a form of impromptu theatre he invented for himself. Lines always fascinated him in particular, because they are simple yet powerful, and they play a central role in his work till today.
