Digital Photography Fundamental
數碼攝影基礎課程

Digital imaging is taking over film photography by speeding up and simplifying many traditional photographic processes.  It becomes a majority in both consumer and commercial photography.  Understanding digital photography and  workflow is essential for improving skills and getting better images. 

The course will discuss both traditional film and digital photography’s similarities and differences.  Also, it will introduce digital photography terminologies, design and composition, digital camera usages, features, shooting techniques, studio lighting, Photoshop skills, inkjet printing, and web presentation.  Moreover, students will have many interactions in classes and collaborate with peers of their work from assignments.

由於數碼攝影佔了很重要的部份，所以很多熱愛攝影人士特別有興趣，本課程重點以啟發個人拍攝手法和掌握行內正統攝影流程為主，使學員能獲得更佳的作品。

Class 1: Introduction and Camera's Usage (3 hours)

Basic cameras review:   
Both film and digital cameras   
Digital camera format:   
Point & shoot, Digital SLR, and Digital backs
Sensor type:       
CMOS, CCD, and Foveon X3 sensors
The lens:       
Focal length, fixed and zoon, interchangeable, speed, and quality
Camera features:       
Memory, resolution, file size and format, colour balance, ISO, and colour mode.
Seeing Photographs:   
Perspective, point of view, content, emphasis, and balance   
Composition:       
Framing, background, spot, line, shape, pattern, contrasts, and sharpness
